5 Awesome And Fun Team Building Games

If there is one way to ensure that any team building exercise you facilitate is going to be successful then it is to ensure that is fun for those taking part. This can be achieved by using team building games from teamworksdevelopment.com.au rather than other activities as they not only can be fun, but they also help team members to bond and form a closer relationship.

For those of you who are concerned that you do not know of any team building games, please rest easy, as there are dozens of team. To get you started here are 5 of our favourite team building games which are proven to improve team spirit, trust, and togetherness.

The Human Knot

This is a fun game for between 8 and 20 participates. Everyone stands in a circle, and then they use their right hand to grab the hand of another. Then they use their left hand to grab another hand. Once they are all ‘tied together’, the team has to untangle the knot they are in without letting go of anyone. Skills required are communication and working together to solve the problem.

The Mine Field

This requires an even number of participants, and you will need a several small objects which you place on a random basis across the outdoor area you are using. The participants are split into pairs and one member of each pair is blindfolded.

Their teammate must guide them using only their voice across the area so that they do not step on any of the objects or ‘mines’. This is a great game for improving verbal and listening skills, plus it engenders a large degree of trust within each pair.

Egg Survival

You will need items such as tape, straws, paper, cardboard, rubber bands, and any other items which you might use to build a simple egg holder. Building that egg holder is the team’s objective but it must be stable and strong enough for a raw egg to be placed inside it, and for it to be dropped from above your head without the egg breaking when it hits the ground.

As the egg inside needs to survive the drop the team needs to show problem-solving skills and to work and communicate together to build the strongest egg holder possible.

Back To Back Pictures

Split your group into teams of two and make each pair sit back to back. Show one partner a random photograph of an object, shape, or person, and then that person has 2 minutes to describe to their partner how they should draw without actually saying what it is. After 2 minutes if the drawing matches the photo, they score a point. Communication is obviously a key skill here, as well as giving and taking instructions.

Spot The Lie

With this team game, everyone has to tell the team 3 truthful things about themselves, that ideally the rest of the team are not aware of. It could be meeting a famous person, a fantastic holiday experience, or something which was dramatic. In addition to the 3 truths, they must also tell one lie, but it also must be realistic, so nothing too ridiculous such as they’ve walked on the moon.

The rest of the team has to guess which one of the four stories is a lie. You can adapt this to allow questions, with a further caveat being only yes or no answers are allowed. A great game for building rapport, and for the group to grow closer by knowing a bit more about each other.
